We regret to advise of the death of Chief Petty Officer 2^nd Class Michael John Finnigan, CD (Ret’d) of Dartmouth, suddenly at home  on Thursday 17 May 2018 in Halifax, NS at age 67 years.

Born in Halifax, Michael proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years as a Naval Firefighter with the Canadian Military Engineers. During his career he took his family on a lifetime adventure coast to coast and overseas to Lahr, Germany. Always thinking of others before himself, he was a friend to all, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand and could not go anywhere without seeing someone he knew and breaking into a full conversation.

A visitation and opportunity to share stories will be held in Woodlawn United on Tuesday, 22 May, from 7-9:00 pm.  A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Wednesday, 23 May 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Rd, Dartmouth, NS. A reception for friends and family will follow in the hall downstairs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.^{khJun2018}
