This message is sent on behalf of MGen Whitecross to CME Family members.

As your Colonel Commandant, Canadian Armed Forces Chief Military Engineer and CME Branch Chief Warrant Officer, it is with great pleasure that we take this opportunity to offer our best wishes of the Christmas season to you, the men and women of the Canadian Military Engineer Branch and to all of your families. We hope that you will take the time to reflect upon your outstanding accomplishments from the past year and the prosperity of the future.

We are honoured to have had the opportunity to travel across the country and visit as many Engineers as we could. We are continually impressed and humbled with all that you do and the high level of professionalism displayed by everyone within the Engineer family. We continually hear the praises of your supported commanders, the fleets, bases, and wings of the tremendous work that you are providing to them. From Op RENDER SAFE, Ex SEAWORTHY, Ex MAPLE RESOLVE, and currently Op IMPACT, to name only a few, we truly have been “UBIQUE”, Everywhere! So many of you have been rightfully recognized for your tremendous efforts and you should be extremely proud of what you have accomplished! Congratulations!

As we look forward, we are confident the CME Branch is poised to provide the best military engineering advice and capabilities to our Canadian Armed Forces, in this, our ever changing environment. Fortunately, we are agile and adaptable enough to provide the world-class engineering support that they expect and deserve.

With the tragic events that surrounded the death of one of our own, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, we are reminded of the world that we operate in and the dangers it presents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Warrant Officer Vincent and with our deployed troops and their families as we wait for their safe return. Bearing this in mind, we all hope that you each take the time over the holidays to enjoy friends and family. Merry Christmas to you all and the very best in 2015!

Chimo!
