WO/Adj R.R. Jury, CD

After more than 26 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, WO R.R. Jury, CD, will retire on 08 January 2025. No Depart with Dignity (DwD) ceremony will take place at the member’s request.
WO Robert Jury enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist Combat Engineer with 45 Field Engineer Squadron (45 Fd Sqn) in Sydney NS on 08 October 1998.
On 26 June 2003 he joined the regular force as a Combat Engineer and was posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (1 CER) in Edmonton, AB. He participated in various training exercises and deployed twice to Afghanistan as an engineer reconnaissance section member and as an EOD/IEDD operator. He was then posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) in 2011 for three years as an instructor in the CIED cell.
From CFSME, Robert served as the 43 CIED Sqn, EOD Tp Recce Sgt at 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) from 2016 to 2018. During this time he deployed to Operation Unifier, Ukraine as a CIED instructor and Operation Render Safe in the Solomon Islands as the lead technical advisor for explosive reminisce of war clean-up efforts.
In 2018, he was posted to the Combat Training Centre (CTC) Tactics School as the Tactical Exploitation Cell WO. There he oversaw modernization of the level one tactical exploitation course. He also attended multiple international course and conferences that expanded the CAF’s knowledge within the counter explosive threat community.
His final posting saw him return to 4 ESR in 2021 where he was employed as the 43 EOD Tp WO and the 43 CET Sqn SQMS.
WO Jury will enjoy his retirement in Hanwell, NB
