WO Steve Michaud, CD

Warrant Officer Steve Michaud, CD will be retiring from the Canadian Forces effective 3 Jan 08 after 22 years of loyal and dedicated service as a combat engineer.
Sapper Michaud joined the military in Oct 1985 and upon completion of his TQ3 was posted to 5 RGC where he stayed for a couple years before going to Germany for a 5-year posting with 4 CER. During that time, he deployed on OP HARMONY with the R22R 1st Battalion Battle Group to Croatia, Bosnia and the Sarajevo Airport, in 1992. In 93, Cpl Michaud was posted back to 5 RGC where he served as a Section Commander and the Unit Dive NCO. He deployed twice on OP CAVLIER with 12 RBC and 3R22R in 93-94 and 95 and was promoted to Sgt. In 2000 he moved to Gagetown and started a 3-year posting with the Army Dive Centre during which he taught 4 Combat Diver courses in CFB Esquimalt and CTC Gagetown. In 2003, WO Michaud was posted to CANSOFCOM where he stayed for a period of 4 years, before being selected to attend the Army Technical Warrant Officers program at RMC, Kingston.
WO Michaud has accepted a job with the United Nations as a Chemical Weapons Inspector in The Hague, Holland.
WO (Mitch) Michaud is happily married to Isabelle Leblanc and they have two daughters Frédérique, Angélie and a son, Justin.
A retirement ceremony will be held 14 Dec 07 at 1100 hours in the Department of Military Science building (Bldg #60, behind the field house next to HMCS Cataroqui) on the campus of RMC in Kingston.
