On 17 Nov 2008, MWO Marc Charette will be retiring from the Canadian Forces after 20 plus years of Loyal and Dedicated Service to Queen and Country.
MWO Charette was born in Buckingham Quebec on 03 Jan 1970. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in Hull Quebec on 27 Jan 1988 as a Field Engineer (041). After completing basic and trades training he was posted to 5e RGC at CFB Valcartier where he remained until 1990, he was then posted to 4 CER in Lahr Germany for three wonderful years, that’s where he met his Wife Annie working for DND as a civilian dental hygienist.
In 1993 MWO Charette was posted to 4 ESR for three years, promoted to the rank of Mcpl and posted to CFSME CFB Chilliwack at the combat training cell for 2 years and MWD for a total of 4 years at CFSME, he was promoted to the rank of Sgt and posted to 2 CER in Petawawa spending three years, promoted to Warrant officer and posted again would see MWO Charette spending a short year in 5e RGC where he accepted a posting with the reserve with the 9e Escadron de Genie in Rouyn-Noranda for three challenging years, promoted to MWO and posted to CEFCOM in Ottawa, It was there that he decided to retire from the Canadian Forces after more than 20 years of service.
MWO Charette completed three tours during his time with the CF, Vukovar Croatia in 1992, Rwanda Africa in 1994, and Sierra Leone Africa in 2002.
MWO Charette will be retiring in Aylmer Quebec with his wife Annie and their two children, Simon 14 and Catherine 12. He secured a position within NCR as the PRL career manager.
