We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Carol “Carl” Ruel, CD (Ret’d) in Sherbrooke QC at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Sherbrooke of the Centre de santé et de services sociaux, on 25 July 2025, at the age of 73 years.

A resident of Sherbrooke, Carl enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 1970 and served with the Canadian Military Engineers as a Combat Engineer and Heavy Equipment Operator for over 34 years. He served primarily in 5^e Regiment de Genie de Combat in Valcartier QC and at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC.  Carl was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002. 

A viewing was held at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Estrie (485 Rue du 24 Juin, Sherbrooke) on 16 August 2025 to receive condolences and for family and friends to pay their respects. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
