Maj Ralf R.J. Hennig, CD

    After more than 30 years of loyal and dedicated service, Maj Ralf Hennig will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 1 March 2015.

    Ralf enrolled in Toronto in October 1984 as a DEO and proceeded directly to Chilliwack for BOTC and thereafter all engineer phase training, returning to Toronto BCEO organization for his first posting in March 1986. His thirty + years’ service included postings to 1 CER in Chilliwack, NDHQ Ottawa, Munich Germany, Edmonton, Wainwright, Kingston and finally, Ottawa in DLI as a Project Director. During his career he completed missions in Pakistan, Kuwait and Afghanistan.

    Ralf and his wife Katharine will continue to reside in Verona ON, for the time being at least. He has no firm plans yet on post-uniformed employment.

    In order to honour Ralf's service in the CAF and to wish him well in his retirement, at Ralf’s request a simple luncheon with DWD presentation will be held at the Heart and Crown Pub, 67 Clarence St Ottawa in the Byward Market, at 1200 hrs on Thursday, 26 Feb 2015.
