    After more than 10 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, Cpl Robert Hill will retire on 25 May 2022. Congratulatory messages and best wishes can be sent to Sgt A.P.M. Lacharite at Alexandre.Lacharite@forces.gc.ca.


    Robert was born on 12 March 1987 in Scarborough, Ontario. He enrolled as a Combat Engineer in Moncton, New Brunswick, on 17 August 2011. After Basic Training at CFLRS in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Robert completed DP1 at CFSME at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick. He was posted to 4 Engineer Support Regiment on 02 December 2011, where he filled many positions from field troop section C9 gunner, section driver, troop MT rep, ROWPU operator, and EROC member. On 15 July 2017, Cpl Hill was posted to CFB Gagetown Range Control EOD, where he continues to work today.

    Cpl Hill was presented the Chief of the Canadian Armed Forces Coin by CWO J.A. Guimond.

    While the CAF will lose an Engineer and Range Control will lose a team member, friendships will endure. Rob, his spouse Melissa, daughters Kenza and Annabella, and son Xavier, will remain in Oromocto following his retirement. Rob has accepted s civilian position at CFB Gagetown with Direct Fire Targeting
