Cpl J.S.C. Boutilier, CD

After more than 37 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, Cpl J.S.C. Boutilier, CD, will retire on 27 September 2024. Anecdotes, and well-wishes may be sent to Sgt Mattatall at: christena.mattatall@forces.gc.ca
Cpl Boutilier was born in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia on 17 Apr 1966. He graduated from High School in 1984 and went on to complete a technical certificate at the Community College in Halifax in 1985. He joined the Regular Force on 17 Mar 1987, as a Radar Technician.
Upon completion of Recruit School in Cornwallis, Cpl Boutilier was posted to Kingston, ON in 1987 to complete his trades training and remained there until 1988. He was then posted to Comox, BC where he worked in his trade until 1995 when he was posted to GOOSEBAY, NL.
Cpl Boutilier changed trades to ATIS Technician in January of 1996 and remained in Goosebay until 1998. He was then posted to Halifax, NS until 2005 and posted back to Kingston, ON from 2005 to 2007. During this posting Cpl Boutilier’s daughter Emily Euginea Boutilier was born on 17 Nov 2006.
In 2007 Cpl Boutilier, transferred from the Regular Force to the Reserve Force and he moved back to Nova Scotia to work in Shearwater. His son, Connor James Boutilier was born on 24 Nov 2008. Cpl Boutilier continued to work in Shearwater until 2009.
Cpl Boutilier transferred to 144 Construction Engineering Flight as an Electrical Distribution Technician completing his QL3 course at CFSME in 2010. Cpl Boutilier has been employed with the CEF as a tradesperson since 2010 and has been a valued member of the Flight.
Cpl Boutilier’s career in the Canadian Armed Forces has spanned over 37 years, our Flight wishes him a happy retirement. Thank you for your service, Cpl Boutilier.
