This is the final of five parts and tells the stories of sapper sacrifice during the Battle of the Scheldt. Each story has been researched using the official history of the Royal Canadian Engineers, unit war diaries, unit histories, service records and other available references. Contributions to enhance the completeness and accuracy of the stories will be welcomed and appreciated.
Below are the names of the more than 50 officers and men of the Royal Canadian Engineers who gave their lives during the Battle of the Scheldt. We have been able to build a personal story for many of these men telling from where they came and how they found themselves in this horrific battle. We will add to these stories as our research uncovers more.
