Moments dans le patrimoine du Génie
L’histoire du Génie militaire canadien est longue et riche, en temps de paix comme en temps de guerre. Des unités du GMC ont servi partout dans le monde dans le cadre de conflits et de catastrophes, et ce, depuis avant la Confédération. Le GMC et ses prédécesseurs ont autant contribué à la croissance de notre pays que toute autre organisation militaire, sinon plus. Des débuts des vols motorisés au Canada, de l’installation de la MRC sur nos côtes, de la construction et de la maintenance des camps et des bases de notre Aviation et de notre Armée à la plus récente construction de ponts et d’aéronefs dans le Nord, le GMC a toujours joué un rôle de premier plan. Nos troupes ont défini une toute nouvelle ère lors des plus récents conflits et catastrophes. Tout cela pour dire que notre devise, « UBIQUE », signifie « Partout » et que nous disposons d’une foule de récits pour illustrer notre histoire.
