We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Master Corporal William “Hootch” Ralph Bergdahl, CD (Ret'd) at home in St John NB on 15 September 2025 at age 75.

A native of Montreal QC, Bill served for 20 years as a Firefighter with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Military Engineers on HMCS Saguenay and at Canadian Forces Bases Greenwood NS, Portage MB and Chatham NB.  After retiring from the Canadian Forces, Bill enjoyed time in Florida before settling in Saint John, where he made his home. 

In accordance with Bill’s wishes, no funeral will be held. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to any charity supporting Canadian Veterans or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
