    We regret to advise of the death of William “Bill” Homeney of Quispamsis NB on 10 February 2015 at the age of 80 years. Bill served in the 1st (Brighton) Field Squadron, Royal Canadian Engineers.

    Bill was born in Bloomfield NB. He lived in Fairvale for most of his life but later moved to Quispamsis and retired. He worked at T. McAvity & Sons Ltd, a manufacturer of fire hydrants and valves for 20 years before moving to Irving Paper in Quispamsis NB as a millwright. Bill retired  Irving Paper in 1990.

    Bill was active in his community, serving as a village councillor for many year in Fairvale NB. He was a founding and lifetime member of Island View Lion's Club in Quispamsis and held many club positions from President, Secretary, Zone Chairman and District Governor.

    Bill is resting at the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday and Sunday 14/15 February from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM each day. A funeral service will be held on Monday 16 February at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Quispamsis Rd. at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will take place at Christ Church Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada, Juvenile Diabetes or to the donor's choice would be appreciated in William’s memory.
