Stanley Elvin "Al" Daykin

    We regret to advise that Stanley Elvin "Al" Daykin died peacefully in Leaside Retirement Residence, Toronto on 10 July 2008 at the age of 83.

    Born in Orillia, ON, he served in the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1943-1946 and was then employed by Photographic Survey in Toronto and Montreal. In 1959 he founded Atlantic Air Survey in Dartmouth, which he sold to Lockwood Survey Corp. In 1970 and he continued to work as President and General Manager. From 1979 until 1985 he was Vice President Marketing for Northway Survey Corp. Al lived in British Columbia for a number of years doing consulting work before returning to spend his remaining years in Toronto. He was a member of Canadian Institute of Surveying (CIS), president of CIS in 1980, member of American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing,

    Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
