We regret to advise the death of Sapper Ivan Elmer Jollota (Ret'd) of Upper Nappan NS on 14 November 2017 at age 88 years. Ivan died in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center with his family by his side.

Ivan was born in Sonora NS. Besides serving in the Royal Canadian Engineers, he worked on fishing boats, ran a gas station, work at Amherst Woodworking and was a Commissionaire. Ivan was a member of the Amherst Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and had received a 60-year pin.

As per Ivan's wishes, there was no funeral, but a celebration of Ivan's life was held on Sunday 19 November 2017 at Campbell's Funeral Home in Amherst. Interment took place in Pictou County with his first wife.
