Sgt Andrews will retire from the Canadian Forces on the 04 September 2008, having completed 21 plus years of loyal and dedicated service.

He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in Corner Brook Newfoundland as a Steward on 30 July 1987, after completion of training in 1988 he was posted to Halifax on the HMCS Saguenay, on the 28 Mar 88, during is posting in Halifax he was deployed to Golan Heights in Syria from 01 Sep 92 to 03 Mar 93, then upon his return he was posted to the HMCS Toronto on 3rd May 93. On 15 Aug 96 he was posted to CFB Halifax until 29th Mar 99 when he applied for a component transfer. He completed his Construction Technician course on the 11 Aug 2000 at CFSME in Gagetown. On 2nd Oct 00 he was posted to Greenwood as a Construction Tech until 10th Jul 06. During his posting in Grenwood he was deployed to Alert from 28th May 03 to 27th Nov 03, and to Kandahar Afghanistan from 1st Feb 06 to 15th Aug 06. After his tour in Afghanistan he was posted to CFB Gander on the 29th Sep 06 until his retirement on the 4th Sep 08.

Sgt Andrews upon his retirement will transfer to the reserves and serve with the 91 Air Field Engineer Flight in Gander. Howard, Katherine, their daughter Sarah and two sons Bradley and Riley will be residing in Gander.
