Korea’s Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs seeks applicants for the 2023 Scholarship Program for Descendants of UN Korean War veterans

One descendant from each of 22 nations will win prestigious fully paid scholarships to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

Once again Korea’s Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs is reaching out to veterans all over the world to provide an opportunity for their grandchildren to receive an all-expense paid university education in one of Korea’s highest-ranked universities. Hankuk University of Foreign Studies offers undergraduate and graduate majors in many disciplines in bachelor's, master and Ph.D. programs. The November 18 deadline for applying is rushing at us, with selections for the 2023 program to be announced on December 23rd. Scholarship winners will travel to Korea in February and begin their one-year intensive Korean language program on March 6.

The language program is a prerequisite for beginning university academic programs.

Students can transfer into the undergraduate bachelor's degree programs with advanced credit, or go right from high school and complete the one-year Korean language study requirement and the four-year degree program.

Graduate-level students can apply for either master's or doctorate degree programs, or combined master-doctor programs.

This is a wonderful program and students who have graduated can’t say enough about it. Everything is paid for by the MPVA, which even provides a cash stipend of 500,000 won monthly to each student for incidental expenses.

Transportation to Korea is covered, as is housing, meals, all tuition, and learning materials.

The main campus is conveniently located in Seoul. Camaraderie is superb, with students able to develop lifelong friendships with scholars from all of the overseas nations that sent forces and medical specialists to Korea during the Korean War Years.

Full details, including the application, are included in the attached file titled 2023 Scholarship Program for Descendants of UN Korean War veterans
