We regret to advise the death of Ronald Elwood Gallant of Kamloops BC on 10 October 2009 at the age of 69 years.

Ron was born in Morden MB. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1957 but transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1962. He served on HMCS New Waterford, HMCS Bonaventure, HMCS Athabaskan and HMCS Kootenay before retiring from the Canadian Forces in 1967. Ron was a member of the Thompson Legion for four years and was with the Mackenzie BC Legion Branch #273 for thirty-two years where he served on the Executive as Vice-President and Treasurer. He received the BC-Yukon Command Provincial Volunteer of the Year Award. ^{{dcJan20wd} [zcc, zbd]}
