We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Tyler Glenn Hiscock of Glace Bay, NS on 30 October 2019 at the age of 24.

Tyler was a native of Glace Bay and attended Glace Bay High School. He joined the Canadian Forces in 2016 and completed his Basic Military Qualification at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in St-Jean, QC. After completion of this training Tyler was sent to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Garrison Gagetown, NB where he began his Combat Engineer training in May 2017. Unfortunately Tyler was re-coursed due to an injury  but graduated in March 2018. Tyler was then posted to 4 Engineer Support Regiment in Garrison Gagetown where he joined 21 Field Troop of 42 Horizontal Construction Squadron. Spr Hiscock served as a section member and, after completion of a Basic Communications course he became the Troop Signaller.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, 12 November 2019 from 12-2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street in Glace Bay NS. A reception will follow in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome a donation to either The Canadian Mental Health Association in Tyler’s honor, or to the education fund set up for his son by fellow service members.
