We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Warrant Officer John Edward “Ed” Webster, CD (Ret'd) of Bushville, Miramichi NB, on 22 October 2023, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Born in Ottawa ON, Ed was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served with the Fire Services.  During his military career, Ed served in Claresholm AB, Penhold AB, Uplands  ON, Chatham NB, Summerside PEI and Greenwood, NS. He also deployed on United Nations Peacekeeping duties with UNEF in Ismailia Egypt. After his retirement from the Canadian Forces, Ed was employed as Deputy Fire Chief of the Airport Fire Services in Resolute Bay. This was followed by working with Irving Oil in Newcastle NB.

Ed’s son Gerry is also a proud retired member of our Military Fire Service.

A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on 13 November 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 750 Water St., Miramichi. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, followed by a light lunch in the church. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to New Brunswick Heart & Stroke, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online messages of condolence can be sent to the funeral home.
