MWO Robert “Bob” Donald McSween, CD (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Robert “Bob” Donald McSween, CD (Ret’d) on 14 April 2023 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 79.
Bob was born in St. Catharine's ON and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1961. He served with the Canadian Military Engineers as a Field Engineer for 36 years. Among his postings, Bob served in Canada in Petawawa ON with 1 Field Squadron, in Chilliwack with the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering and 3 Field Squadron/1 Combat Engineer Regiment and in Ottawa with the Land Engineering Test Establishment. Bob also served in Germany with 4 Field Squadron, at Canadian Forces Station Alert NU, and he deployed to Cyprus on United Nations peacekeeping duties with 1st Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment. Bob retired as a Master Warrant Officer in 1997.
Bob enjoyed running and walking where he did marathons and participated in 10K Volkmarches. He participated in the Terry Fox Marathon by assisting in fundraising at CFB Chilliwack. He also ran in the Olympic Torch Relay in his hometown.
Bob became a Master Mason in 1983 and in 2005 became Grand Master of Free and Accepted Masons of British Columbia and Yukon. He became Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star of British Columbia and Yukon in 2010. Bob was also active in several concordant bodies, such as Shriners, Grotto, Scottish Rite and also in the Royal Order of Scotland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at the Chilliwack Curling Club. Memorial Donations may be made in Robert's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetics Organization. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
