We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Bernard Reginald “Bernie” Campbell, CD (Ret’d) of Greenwood, Kings County NS, suddenly on Sunday, 9 April 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville NS at the age of 92 years.

Bernie served as a Firefighter in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Canadian Military Engineers for 32 years. His military postings with the Fire Service included Canadian Forces Base Goose Bay NL, CFB Greenwood NS and Canadian Forces Station Inuvik NT. After retirement from the Canadian Forces, he was the Fire Chief in the town of Inuvik. Bernie also worked for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation in Hay River NT before retiring to Nova Scotia in the Annapolis Valley. He enjoyed spending winter months in San Miguel, Mexico and summers at his cottages on Sand Lake NS.

There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, 17 April 2023 in St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, 41 Connaught Avenue in Middleton NS with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
