We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Wallace Walton "Wally" Walker, CD (Ret’d), CD (Ret’d) at the Halifax, NS Infirmary on 12 January at the age of 80 years.
Born in Halifax, Wally proudly served 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. He started his career in the Infantry with the 2nd Battalion of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada followed by a transfer to The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR). Wally then remustered to the Canadian Military Engineers where he began a new career as a Construction and Maintenance Technician. Throughout his military career, Wally served across Canada and in Germany and he deployed on four peacekeeping tours. After retiring from his military career at the rank of Master Warrant Officer, Wally worked at Dalhousie University for 15 years.
Wally had various interests that ranged from historic events to meteorology. He loved archery and the hobby of CB radio communicating. Wally had a love for animals and had many pets over the years. He was a member of the Masons.
Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date as well as a combined burial for both Wally and his wife Faye at St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier’s Point, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA in his memory. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at the funeral home website.
