MWO/Adjum K.C. Kent, CD

    Après plus de 21 ans de service loyal et dévoué au sein des Forces armées canadiennes et du Génie militaire canadien, l'Adjum Kevin Kent, CD, prendra sa retraite le 17 avril 2023. Une fonction de DDD aura lieu au UOI Dét Cold Lake à l'été 2023.     In 1990, MWO Kevin Kent began his career as a civilian employee in the Base Construction Engineer (BCE) cell at CFB Borden. During the next ten years, he completed plumbing and gas apprenticeships to obtain a license in those trades. In 2001, after a decade of dedicated public service, he saw the light and joined the Canadian Forces. Following Basic Military Qualifications at CFB Gagetown, he was posted to 191 Airfield Engineering Flight at CFB Comox. Over the next five years he progressed through the ranks to Sergeant and completed two UN tours to the Golan Heights, Israel.

    In the summer of 2007, MWO Kent was posted to CFB/ASU Wainwright as a Contracts Inspector. There, he met many new and interesting people that furthered his experience in the contracting industry. He also met his wife, Deborah, and her fantastic children and grandchildren. Promoted to Warrant Officer in 2009, he deployed on his first tour to Afghanistan as the Forward Operating Base Construction Engineering Officer with the JTF and CSOR. While deployed, he was responsible for maintaining all FOB infrastructure and managing a crew of 85 local national employees of all trades. Upon returning from Afghanistan, he became the Contracts Officer at BCE Wainwright.

    In the summer of 2011, MWO Kent was posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Gagetown as the Plumbing Cell Warrant Officer. Upon promotion to MWO in 2012, he was posted to CFB Cold Lake as the Squadron Sergeant Major for 4 Construction Engineering Squadron (4 CES). From 4 CES, MWO Kent completed his second tour to Afghanistan and in 2014, he was posted to Real Property Operations (RP Ops) Cold Lake, formally known as 4 Wing Construction Engineers.

    In 2018, MWO Kent was posted to the Canadian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, for a year as the Maintenances and Facilities Manager. The next year was spent as the Section Sergeant Major of the RP Ops Det Edmonton. Following that posting, he returned to 4 Wing Cold Lake in 2020 as the RP Ops Det Sargent Major to finish his career. MWO Kent will retire from the CAF on 17 April 2023.

    MWO Kent currently resides in Cold Lake with his wife, Deborah, where they enjoy camping, fishing, and many other outdoor activities.
