Après 27 ans de services loyaux et dévoués au sein des Forces armées canadiennes et du génie militaire canadien, l'Adjum Trevor Larose prendra sa retraite le 01 novembre 2019. Il y aura un dîner informel le 31 octobre à la cantine du RP Ops Det, suivi d'un dîner le 6 novembre 2019 au Memphis Blues BBQ House, au 2110 8 Ave # 1, à Cold Lake, en Alberta. Les participants sont priés d’informer le BPR de leur présence prévue à l’un ou l’autre des événements le 30 octobre 2019 au plus tard. MWO Larose enrolled with the Reserves Fd Engr with 8 Fd Engr Regt Edmonton and completed QL3 at CFB Chilliwack in 1993. In September of 1996 he took a direct entry transfer to the Reg. Force as an EGS tech and served 5 months OJT at CFB Edmonton before heading to CFB Chilliwack to complete the last EGS tech QL3 course to be run in BC.
In September of 1997 MWO Larose was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake Base Construction Engineers (BCE) where he developed his skills as an EGS tech. In Oct. 2000 he was sent to CFSME in Gagetown to complete his QL5 course to become a qualified EGS journeyman. Upon completion of his QL5’s he was posted back to BCE Cold Lake and was promoted to MCpl in 2002.
During his time in Cold Lake, MWO Larose accumulated over 400 days in CFS Alert, did numerous FOL deployments and, in 2004, deployed to The Golan Heights with the UNDOF Task Force as the EGS IC. Promoted to Sgt in 2005, he assumed the role of IC of the EGS shop. In 2006 he was posted to 1 CER Edmonton as the Construction Troop Mech IC and deployed to Afghanistan as part of Task Force 3-01 in 2008 for 7 months. Following his return from Afghanistan MWO Larose was prompted to WO in 2009 and assumed the CT WO position in 1 CER. In 2011 he again deployed to Afghanistan with the MTTF as the Engr Svcs Coy Ops WO for the teardown and reclamation of Canadian assets for the withdrawing if the CAF from Afghanistan.
In 2012 MWO Larose was promoted to his current rank and posted to 17 Wing Winnipeg, Det Dundurn as the Base construction Engineering Officer. He remained in this position until 2014 when he was then posted to 3CDSG Engr Svcs HQ Edmonton as Training and Compliance Officer. In 2017 MWO Larose was posted to his final posting to RP Ops Det Cold Lake as the Det SM.
MWO Larose will be retiring with his spouse Patty and moving to his Mom’s small acreage just outside Edson to help her manage the property and personal matters. They will be looking for employment in the area and hope to settle with possibly of buying the property or at least see it through until she’s ready to sell.
