    We regret to advise of the death Major Peter Sandham (Ret'd) on 15 May 2011 in Victoria, BC after a brief illness.

    Born in 1922, Peter was educated in St. Catharine's, ON and went on to the University of Toronto to become a civil engineer. Peter enlisted in the RCAF during WW II and trained as a pilot with his first solo flight being in November 1943. He was released from active service in January 1945 and returned to university to finish his degree - becoming a Professional Engineer in October 1948. Peter was the first military Base Construction Engineering Officer at CFB Esquimalt (1966 to 1971).

    He retired from the military in 1971 and was an active member of the CMEA Victoria Chapter. A service will be held at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Dr., on 14 June at 2:00 pm.
