We regret to advise of the death of John Baptiste Ontoine Bataller on 24 February 2011 in Victoria, BC, at the age of 84 years. John was born in Cape Breton, NS, and initially joined the Canadian Army in 1944 as an Infantryman Signaller and later transferred to the Royal Canadian Engineers. John then spent most of his Engineer career as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Chilliwack and retired from the Armed Forces in 1975.
A remembrance ceremony will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery, 10010 Hillcrest, Chilliwack, on 12 March 2011 at 1:00 pm followed by a fellowship gathering at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9350 Mary Street, Chilliwack.
