Today marked the final day for Dennis Dwyer as the President of the Edmonton Sapper's Club. Dennis has been involved with the club for several decades, serving on the executive and has been President for about 14 years. Another milestone was marked today. The Edmonton Chapter of the CMEA and the Sappers' Club have officially amalgamated. The Objectives established by the original members when they founded the club in 1945 were: the perpetuation of the memory of the RCE;; the demonstration of concern for the well being of all sappers, their comrades and their families; a sharing of memories; and the manifestation of the pride of being an engineer. These objectives meld very well with the CMEA and the transition will be a smooth one.
In recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the Club, as well as to the greater Engineer family, several presentations were made. 1 Combat Engineer Regiment presented Dennis with a miniature Bailey Bridge panel and a CO's Coin. The Edmonton chapter of the CMEA presented a laser engraved plaque and a framed letter of appreciation signed by the Executive committee.
Thank you for your service, Dennis.
