27766 Officer Cadet Ross Raymond Steeves of Bath, NB, was presented the MGen Stewart Trophy by Richard Dickson (Ret'd), President of the CMEA, and Col Chris Ayotte, Director of Cadets, at his graduation from the Royal Military College of Canada. The trophy is awarded to the top Military Engineer cadet in his graduating year whose occupation classification is Engineer or Construction Engineer. Sponsored by the Canadian Military Engineer Association, the award is based on high standards of proficiency in each of the four components of the RMC: academic studies, athletic capability, military performance and bilingualism.

OCdt Steeves has since been promoted to 2 Lieutenant and selected to act as course officer leading a reserve combat engineer troop completing trades training (P Res DP 1 Cbt Engr Courses) at CFSME in Gagetown.  In September, he will complete his Engineer officer training (Basic Engineer Officer Course 1.2) before being posted to a unit.
