Beginning in the fall of 1944 through the spring of 1945, close to 175,000 Canadians took part in the campaign to liberate the Netherlands. More than 7,600 made the ultimate sacrifice.

The following Canadian Military Engineer chief warrant officers have been assigned to senior appointments as noted:
D-Day Sapper, Cpl Stanley Fields Dies at 101 Years Old
Corporal Stanley Clark Fields (Ret’d), peacefully on 11 April 2020 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa ON at the age of 101 years. Stanley was a veteran of the Second World War and believed to be the last surviving member of 5th Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers, one of the assaulting engineer companies on Juno Beach on D-Day.
Edmonton CME 2020 Reunion Postponed Indefinitely
The Edmonton CME Reunion planned for 12-14 June 2020 has been postponed indefinitely. More details will follow if these events are rescheduled for a later date.
