On February 10, 2020, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Jonathan Vance, visited Canadian soldiers deployed on Operation IMPACT at Camp Canada, Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait.
The Prime Minister took the time to recognize the service of the men and women who were away from their families over the Christmas holidays and during the volatile first weeks of the New Year in the Middle East.
5 RGC Receives CJOC Commendation

On 15 January 2020, 5 RGC Geomatics Tp received a Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) Unit Commendation for their work during OP CADENCE (G7 Summit in Charlevoix 2018). WO Marc Pouliot stated clearly that credit for the commendation belongs to all members of the troop. He also thanked all those who support the 5 RGC team in their efforts.
39 CER Hosts Ex PALADIN RESPONSE 2019
Once again Reserve Engineers concentrated for intensive training during the Christmas – New Year break. This exercise has been conducted for some 30 years at Chilliwack, Wainwright, and Gagetown and formerly has been known as exercise Quarrel Jump.
This year the exercise was attended by 186 soldiers from the CERs:
2019 Military Mapper
The theme for this year’s mapper is, “We are moving,” which could have been the theme for many mappers in the past, but this time it is actually going to happen. Unlike previous moves it is clear that the building is going to be closed and the site re-developed.
The Army Survey Establishment (ASE) moved into 615 Booth Street in 1961, five years before the unit was renamed the Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE). ....

The 21st Steel Awards for Excellence in Construction Honours CME Veterans
On Monday, 11 November the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC-ICCA) of the Quebec Region celebrated the 21st anniversary of the Steel Awards for Excellence in Steel Construction, at one of the most historic venues in Canada, the prestigious Montreal 'The Windsor', offering a welcome cocktail, a gourmet 3-course dinner, in a packed hall. The evening was hosted by Stéphanie Levesque (animator, columnist, author, cabinetmaker).
