The Government of Canada marked the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a national commemorative ceremony held in Ottawa at the Christ Church Cathedral. I had the privilege of being selected to represent the Canadian Military Engineers Association.
A Message to the CME on the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022 caused a shock wave around the world and especially touched all Canadian Military Engineers (CME). We have lost our Colonel-in-Chief who served us for more than 60 years. Her Majesty leaves a remarkable legacy of selfless service and devotion to duty, having embodied our highest ideals of integrity, resolve, and grace.

Once again this year, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members across Canada and around the world will take part in a national celebration of Sport on 20 October 2022.
With the return of community sports and in person events, we are looking to make the 10th annual CAF Sports Day a memorable one.
CME Update – Construction Engineer Trades’ Uniforms
A message from the Occupation Advisor for Construction Engineers and Fire Fighters, Colonel S. MacEwen:
After much consideration and discussion, the Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, who is the occupational authority for Construction Engineering trades, has determined that all CAF members in CE trades will wear the RCAF uniform.
The reason for this approval is two-fold:
Maj Rick Dunning Presented the 3rd Clasp to his CD
On 21 July 22, in front of a small group of family, friends, and colleagues, Major Rick Dunning was presented his CD3 by Major- General Horgan.
CMEA Bursary 2022: Grand Total of $18,000 (nine individual bursaries of $2,000)
1. Applications are open to CMEA members and dependents of current or deceased CMEA members.
2. Applicants must have completed or be in their final year of secondary schooling and preparing to attend or continuing a program at a certified post-secondary educational institution.
3. The bursary program consists of nine individual educational bursaries of $2,000 to be awarded annually for the year of study starting in September to nine applicants based on the eligibility and selection criteria detailed in this directive.
