Major-General Kevin G. Horgan, OMM, CD, P Eng

Major-General Kevin Horgan joined the CAF in 1987 and his military career has taken him across Canada and around the world. The adventure commenced in memorable style as he had the privilege, after a five-year posting there, to be the last military member to serve at 4 Wing Baden-Soellingen, Germany.
His leadership positions have included: Deputy Commanding Officer of 4 Airfield Engineer Squadron Cold Lake; Officer Commanding of a composite Engineer Squadron for a UN mission in Haiti; 14 Wing Construction Engineering Officer; Commanding Officer 1 Engineer Support Unit; Commanding Officer of the Canadian Element to COMKAF HQ and NATO Base Engineer Kandahar Airfield; and Commander Real Property Operations Group. His staff appointments have included three tours at 1 Canadian Air Division; Engineer J2/J3 in the JTF HQ for Op ASSISTANCE; Director of Support RCAF HQ; and Special Advisor to the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff.
In November 2017 he was promoted Brigadier-General and appointed Chief of Staff to the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff and in Dec 2019 was appointed an Officer in the Order of Military Merit. In summer 2020 he was promoted to his current rank and appointed Chief of Staff to the Assistant Deputy Minister Infrastructure and Environment and Chief Military Engineer
Major-General Horgan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, a Masters of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College and is a graduate of the USAF Air War College. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of New Brunswick.
