    After more than 15 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, WO Brandy Alexander, CD, will retire on 31 January 2023. WO Alexander’s Depart with Dignity event will be held at the Warrants’ and Sergeants’ Mess at Garrison Kingston on 20 January 2023 at 1100 hrs. If you wish to attend the event, please RSVP soonest.     WO Alexander joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 23 March 2007 at Canadian Forces Recruiting Center Vancouver and attended Basic Training in Wainwright, AB. After completing Basic Training, she began the two-year trades training for Geomatics Technician at Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON.

    Upon completion of schooling in 2009, WO Alexander was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) and deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. Following this deployment, she served as a geomatics technician at 2 CER for two more years. In 2013, WO Alexander attained a position at the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) as a geomatics supporter. She deployed on various international exercises and operations, including to Iraq in 2015 where she was the only geo tech supporting Canadian special operations forces within theatre. WO Alexander left CSOR at the rank of Sergeant and was posted to 1 CER in Edmonton, AB, in 2017. As the Geo Production Manager, she deployed to Latvia in support of the 2 PPCLI Battle Group in 2019-2020. WO Alexander was then posted to the 1 Canadian Division HQ as the J2 Geomatics I/C and J2 Branch Sergeant-Major where she will remain during her final days of service.

    WO Alexander is thankful for the exceptional opportunities she has been afforded throughout her military career. Above all else, she is thankful for meeting the friends and colleagues from whom she has been privileged to learn much over the years. WO Alexander, her husband, David, and son, Alexander, will continue to reside at their home in Yarker, ON, from where she will work with her new position at H2 Analytics.
