    We regret to advise of the death of Thomas James Kennedy peacefully at his residence in Charlotte, North Carolina on 19 September 2010 at the age of 87.

    Thomas was born in South March, ON but grew up in Farrellton (Gatineau), QC on the banks of the Gatineau River.  He was a WW II veteran who served in the Royal Canadian Artillery.  After the war he re-enlisted and served eight years with the Royal Canadian Engineers. After leaving the Army he was employed in the Federal Civil Service in Ottawa for 10 years and then, in 1965, moved to Charlotte where he went to work for the Federal Reserve Bank until his retirement in 1985. Thomas would return to Canada every summer and he spent 15 great summers in Farrellton living in a house he restored on the banks of the Gatineau River.

    Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Services, Derita Chapel, Charlotte on 21 September 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  A mass of resurrection will be held on 22 September at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Rd, Charlotte.
