    We regret to advise that Sergeant Robert Layton Ross (Ret’d) passed away peacefully at the K.E. Spencer Nursing Home on 13 September 2012. Born in Moncton in 1938, Robert began his military career with the Royal Canadian Dragoons but then served his country as a fire fighter in the Air Force and Navy throughout most of his 33-year career. He served in Cyprus and Lahr, Germany and was also stationed in Gagetown, NB, Cold Lake, AB, and Shearwater, NS returning home to Moncton in 1989. The family will be receiving guests at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, 18 September 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow visitation in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. Refreshments and memories will be-shared in the Garden View Reception Room immediately following the funeral service. A private family interment will held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice.
