We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Sergeant Brian Francis Clyde Gunn, CD (Ret’d) on 7 August 2025 in Clementsport NS at age 79.

Brian was born in Halifax NS. His passion for firefighting began when he was young and evolved to becoming his career when he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as aFirefighter. He served on bases across the country including some close to home in Nova Scotia at Canadian Forces Greenwood and Canadian Forces Station Barrington. 

Brian served his communities, whether as a Scout leader, organizing Friday night suppers at the Clementsport Legion, or solving problems for family, friends and neighbours. He had a gift for making people feel valued, and his friendships spanned decades.

A Celebration of Brian’s life was held at the Clementsport Legion {2008 Highway 1, Clementsport} on 23 August with an informal service, followed by a reception and sharing of memories. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Cancer Patient Navigation Program or the Clementsport Legion.
