Windsor, Ontario — The city of Windsor has unveiled the first fixed monument erected in a Canadian city to honour Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan and Peacekeepers’ Monument, unveiled on September 7, 2014, in Reaume Park on the banks of the Detroit River, is also the first in Canada to honour fallen peacekeepers and soldiers on one monument.

On the 19th of June 2014, the Edmonton Chapter held our second CMEA golf tournament. During the event we raised $4390.65. We donated $3500.00 to Valour Place and $750.00 to the Cpl Turner fund.
The CMEA and our parent association, the Conference of Defence Associations (CDA), fully support the recent federal response to the third report from the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs. OTTAWA – Major-General Paul Wynnyk assumed the role of Commander Canadian Forces Intelligence Command (CFINTCOM) and Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI) today from Major-General Christian Rousseau. The change of command ceremony was held at the Cartier Drill Hall and was attended by Richard B. Fadden, Deputy Minister of National Defence, and presided over by General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff.
