MCpl Cecil King, CD

    MCpl Cecil King will be retiring from the Canadian Forces on 14 Jan 09 after 21 years of loyal and dedicated service. Cecil joined the CF on 14 Jan 1988 at CF RC St. Johns, NL. After completing recruit training at CF RS Cornwallis he was off to the Canadian Forces Fire Academy for his QL 3 Course and upon his successful completion was posted to CFB Chatham, NB in 1989. In 1994 Cecil decided to head west and joined the ships company of the HMCS WINNIPEG in Esquimalt. After completing 3 years at sea Cecil was on the move to Trenton, ON where he spent the next 6 years filling several positions on Platoons and as a MAG Team member. In 2003 Cecil was missing the salt air and headed towards the East coast and found himself in Shearwater, NS. Cecil was the Deputy Platoon Chief of Blue Platoon and also spent some time as a Fire Inspector in Day Cell during his stay at Shearwater. He will be heading back to Long Harbour, NL following his retirement and we wish Cecil all the best in his future endeavours and extend an open invitation to stop by the Fire Dept whenever he is in the area.
