    Maj Lloyd Chubbs, CD will retire on 31 Jul 2016 after serving 32 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the CME Branch (see bio attached). Maj Chubbs has accepted a civilian position with the NATO Support Procurement Agency office in SHAPE.  Maj Chubbs DWD ceremony will take place in SHAPE at the Canadian Contingent Maple Leaf Room on 23 Jun 2016 starting at 1500hrs and will be followed by a beer/sausage tasting activity.  A small fee of 10 Euro will be charge for those attending the function.  Please inform the retirement function coordinator (RFC) before 17 Jun 2016 if you intent to attend.

    Maj Lloyd Chubbs enrolled in the CAF in June 1984. During his 32 year military career, he was employed as an artillery officer from 1984 to 2000 and a Combat Engineer since 2000. He has participated in five international missions in ex-Yugoslavia (92- 93), Haiti (1997 and 2004), Palestine (2009-2010) and Afghanistan (2011). During his Artillery career, he served two postings with the 5ième Regiment d’artillerie Légère du Canada in Valcartier (1989-1993, 1996-2000). As a Combat Engineer, he served with 4 Engineer Support Regiment in Gagetown from 2000-2005. From 2007-2009, he worked as Joint Engineer Plans at the Canadian Expeditionary Force Command in Ottawa. From 2010-2014, Maj Chubbs was the Environmental Advisor for CAF domestic and international operations at the Canadian Operational Support Command (CANOSCOM) and then Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC). Since July 2014, he was acting while so employed (AWSE) LCol and has been employed as a staff Officer Environmental Management at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Casteau, Belgium. Maj Chubbs has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Masters in Environmental Engineering. Maj Chubbs is married to Josée Chabot and they have three children- David (26), Lt Jeremy Chubbs (24) and Eugenie (19). Lloyd will be retiring on 31 July 2016 and taking up civilian employment with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency office in SHAPE.
