    We regret to advise of the passing of John Archibald Britten on 30 October 2012 at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Centre in Halifax.

    John served in the Second World War from 1939 – 1945 with the 1st Field Company RCE. Following the war he worked for the Canada Post as a railway clerk and supervisor. He served as secretary for his unit’s Veterans’ Association helping to keep fellow veterans abreast of 1st Field Company reunions and related news.

    Visitation will be held on 2 November at Cruikshank's Funeral Home Halifax. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 3 November at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Bayers Road, Halifax. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. {gdSep2015kh}
