Sgt Scott LeBlanc, CD

Sergeant Scott LeBlanc was born in Antigonish Nova Scotia and joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 10 Oct. 1995 as a Combat Engineer. Upon completion of the QL3 course in March 1995 his first posting was 2 Combat Engineer Regiment at CFB Petawawa. During his tender with 2 CER Pte LeBlanc participated in the Winnipeg flood relief efforts as well as deploying to Bosnia as part of IFOR.
Dec 2002 Cpl LeBlanc left his current trade of Combat Engineer to become a Firefighter completing his QL3 on 4 Dec 2003. His first posting was to 12 Wing Shearwater from Dec 2003 to July 2007. During his time in Shearwater completed his QL5 course, deployed to Gulf Port, Mississippi for OP UNISON following hurricane Katrina and even spent a very brief time aboard HMCS St Johns.
The next turn in Cpl LeBlanc’s career took him to 8 Wing Trenton FD where he was promoted to MCpl in 2008. In 2009 he was posted to CFLRS St Jean where he trained new recruits until July 2012 when he was promoted to the rank of Sgt and was posted to CFB Borden where he continued his teaching role at the CFFCA.
July 2015 saw the LeBlanc family once again on the move this time to 14 Wing Greenwood. Posted into a DPC position over the next year and a half he deployed to Inuvik NWT as the Detachment Commander of the FOB and in spring of 2015 to CFB Wainwright as the Camp Fire Chief for Ex Maple Resolve.
Sgt LeBlanc recently accepted a position with the CFB Halifax FD and will retire from the CAF on 30 Nov 2016. Sgt LeBlanc, his wife Nicole and their three girls Erin, Lauryn and Colbie will remain in the Kingston NS area as they begin this new chapter of their life.
