MCpl Mario Philibert, CD

    MCpl Philibert was born in Matane, QC and finished his high school education in 1991. During the spring of 2001 he applied to the CAF and on 18 Jul 2001 he was enrolled in the CAF as a Water, Fuels and Environmental Technician. Upon completion of recruit school at CFLRS in St. Jean QC, he arrived at CFSME and began his DP1 course in May of 2002.

    Upon graduation of his DP1 he was given his first posting to Construction Engineering, CFB Valcartier as part of the WFE Section. As a WFE Tech apprentice in Valcartier, MCpl Philibert developed his trade skills and gained valuable trade experience. He received the rank of Cpl in October of 2004 and in January of 2007 was promoted to MCpl. In July of 2008 he was posted to 86 ASU in Trenton, Ontario. While posted to 86 ASU he was employed as the team leader for several projects and fuel tank cleanings at various bases across Canada such as Alert, Greenwood and Winnipeg. In September of 2011, MCpl Philibert was posted to CFSME as a Water, Fuels and Environmental Instructor. While employed at CFSME he led several instructional packages and was course NCO for DP1, DP2 and DP3A courses.

    As Mario's time as a CAF member has come to an end he can look back on his many accomplishments and be proud of his service. He is currently enrolled in the Forestry and Environmental Management program at University of New Brunswick with the hope of becoming a conservation officer after graduation. Mario lives with his spouse Melissa and son Guillaume in Oromocto.

    At Mario’s request, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend his depart with dignity function which will take place at CFSME Gagetown; Bldg. J-10, Staff Lounge on the 4th of December 2015 at 1130 hrs. Dress will be dress of the day or civilian casual.
