We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer John F. Sudsbear, CD (Ret’d) of Kingston, Kings County NS, suddenly on 8 December 2025 at home at age 66.
Born in Saint John NB, John was a graduate of Simonds High School in Saint John. He joined the Canadian Military Engineers as a Combat Engineer in 1980. John’s first posting after completing his basic sapper training at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering was to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Chilliwack BC. He eventually had ten career postings and eight deployments, including to Sarajevo. John remustered to Structures Technician in the mid 1980s and some of his Construction Engineering postings included twice to Canadian Forces Base Greenwood NS, and CFB Halifax. He retired from CFB Greenwood as a Warrant Officer after 35 years of service.
In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in his memory may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada or to Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98, Kingston. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
