On May 08, Lt Timothy Cook, a Construction Engineering Officer in RPOU(W) Det Cold Lake, received his commission scroll and was also awarded the Vice Chief of Defence Staff Commendation. This is the second-highest command commendation that can be presented to a serving member.
Lt Cook was nominated for the VCDS commendation for his exemplary work at RP Ops Det Cold Lake. After commissioning from the ranks, he was immediately tasked as the acting OC of RPOU(W) Det Cold Lake. Furthermore, upon arrival of the new OC, Lt Cook performed the duties of the Requirements Officer (RO) position, all prior to completing trades training. During his tenure as the RO, his leadership was instrumental in optimizing infrastructure maintenance. His efforts, which went above and beyond the expectations of his rank, led to recognizable improvements of 4 Wings’ infrastructure portfolio. Beyond Real Property Operation duties, for four-years running, Lt Timothy Cook has achieved the Platinum standard on the force test. Due to his outstanding performance, he was awarded the VCDS Commendation and he will be posted to RPOU(W) Det Moose Jaw this APS as the OC.
