LCol Doré is a native of Laval, Quebec. He had a brief career as a non-commissioned member from February 1984 to November 1985, during which he served with the Régiment de Maisonneuve and the Maritime Forces. He completed a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (1990) and a university degree in Political Science (2004).
Between 1991 and April 1994, Lieutenant-Colonel Doré completed both his officer training and his occupational training. He was posted to the 5th Combat Engineer Regiment from April 1994 to May 1996, during which time he served as troop commander and deputy squadron commander. From June 1996 to June 1999, he held the position of deputy commander of 9 Engineer Squadron in Rouyn-Noranda. In June 1999, he returned to 5 Combat Engineer Regiment to serve as adjutant captain until June 2001.
From June 2001 to June 2002, he was posted to the Headquarters of the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, where he served as acting G1 and Chief of Staff to the Commander of the Brigade. In June 2002, following his promotion to Major, he returned to 5 Combat Engineer Regiment to command the support squadron until his reassignment in August 2003. He then served at Army Headquarters in Ottawa from August 2003 to June 2008. He held several staff positions, including business planner and staff officer in, a position he held until his deployment to
Afghanistan in 2009.
Upon his return from Afghanistan, Lieutenant-Colonel Doré was posted to the Chief of Military Personnel as an infrastructure project manager until he released from the Regular Force in October 2011.
In the Army Reserve, LCol Doré commanded 34 Combat Engineer Regiment, served as an instructor on the Army Operations Course (AOC), and held a staff officer role at the 2nd Canadian Division Headquarters.
Returning in November 2021 to Canadian Army Headquarters, he served within the Army Reserve Division as the. staff lead for the 75th Anniversary of the Canadian Rangers and as Army Reserve Director 3 – Domestic and International Engagements. He concludes his career with the Directorate of Army Staff 3, as the lead for domestic engagements on behalf of the Canadian Army Commander.
LCol Doré participated in two missions: the first, from April to October 1995 in Croatia under the United Nations (UN) as part of Operation HARMONY Rotation 6, serving as a combat engineer troop commander; the second, from November 2009 to September 2010 in Afghanistan, serving as deputy commander of the engineer regiment within Task Force Kandahar. He completed the Army Command and Staff Course and the Joint
Command and Staff Programme at the Canadian Forces College.
He has two children, Gabrielle and Jules Olivier, and resides with his spouse, Josée Villeneuve, in Vankleek Hill, Ontario
