    After more than 37 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, CWO Jeff Aman, MMM, MSM, CD, will retire on 15 August 2024.     Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Jeff Aman is originally from Scarborough, Ontario. He was born in March 1969 and joined the Canadian Forces in July 1987.

    After completing basic training and Combat Engineering QL3 in 1988, he started his career in the Airborne at 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (2 CER) in Petawawa. He deployed to the Gulf War in 1991.

    In 1992, CWO Aman was posted to CFB Chilliwack where he was employed at Canadian Forces School Of Military Engineering (CFSME) Base Ops and at 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (1 CER) as a Section 2I/C, Section Commander, Field Troop Recce Sergeant, Operations NCO, and Field Troop Warrant. CWO Aman deployed to Bosnia in 1997 and to Kosovo in 1999.

    In 2002, CWO Aman was posted to the Peace Support Training Centre (PSTC) at CFB Kingston. He was employed as a Training NCO and Operations Warrant. In 2006, he was promoted to Master Warrant Officer, and locally posted to Canadian Forces Joint Headquarters to be employed as the HQ Sergeant Major. In 2007, he attended second language training at CFB Kingston.

    In 2008, CWO Aman was posted back to 2 CER where he held the position of Field Squadron Sergeant Major as well as Admin Squadron Sergeant Major. In 2009, he was appointed to the Order of Military Merit as a Member of Military Merit. In 2010, CWO Aman deployed to Afghanistan as the Task Force Engineer Sergeant Major.

    Upon returning from Afghanistan, CWO Aman was posted to Land Forces Doctrine and Training System (LFDTS) at CFB Kingston where he was responsible for all NCM Combat Engineer Individual Training.

    From 2013 to 2016, CWO Aman was appointed as the Regimental Sergeant Major of 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick.
     

    CWO Aman was appointed as the Base Chief Warrant Officer of CFB Kingston from 2016 to 2019, after which he deployed as the Task Force Sergeant Major for Operation IMPACT until June 2020. As a result of his performance during this deployment, he received the Meritorious Service Medal in 2021.

    CWO Aman was appointed as Sergeant Major 1 Cdn Div in July 2021. After three years in that position and over 37 years of service, he will retire and remain in Kingston with his family.
