    After more than 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, WO Christian Beaumont, CD, will retire on 10 May 2022.     Warrant Officer Christian Beaumont enrolled in the CAF in 2002 and after Basic Training, he completed Infantry Training at 2 Canadian Division Training Centre in Valcartier, QC. In 2003, he was posted to 1 Battalion Royal 22e Regiment and deployed to Afghanistan a year later for a tour of duty within the Task Force (TF) Kabul – Infantry Battle Group. In 2006, WO Beaumont finally saw the light and joined the Canadian Military Engineer Branch as a Geomatics Technician.

    Upon his transfer to the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, WO Beaumont was posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Mapping in Ottawa, ON. He graduated from QL5A as a qualified Geomatics Technician in 2008.

    WO Beaumont was then posted to the Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE) in Ottawa where he enjoyed working in the Survey Section. In 2009, he was a part of the Canadian Aerial Survey Mission as a camera operator in TF Afghanistan. In 2010, WO Beaumont was selected by CANSOFCOM for a geospatial analyst position at the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit (CJIRU). In the summer of 2015, WO Beaumont was posted back to MCE and in 2018, he was posted to his current position as the Geospatial Intelligence Support Team supervisor within the Joint Targeting Intelligence Centre.

    WO Beaumont deployed on Op ATHENA twice and received the General Campaign Star and the General Service Medal – Southwest Asia for those deployments. He also received the Canadian Forces Decoration for his years of service in the CAF.

    Having accepted a position in the public service as a geospatial analyst with Statistics Canada, WO Beaumont will remain in the Ottawa area with his wife, Esco, and children, Gabriella and Raphael. Christian has had the privilege and the honour of working with exceptional individuals throughout his military career and will be forever grateful for his time in uniform.
