We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer Peter William McDonough, CD (Ret’d) at his home in Burton NB, on 9 December 2021 at age 62. 

Peter was born in Minto NB and graduated from Minto Memorial High School. He enlisted in 1980 and served a full 35-year career in the Canadian Forces as a Combat Engineer with the Canadian Military Engineers. After completing his basic sapper training at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC, Peter served his first field tour in 22 Field Squadron in Camp Gagetown NB. He subsequently served across Canada and in Germany. His postings included 4 Combat Engineer Regiment in Germany, 2 Combat Engineer Regiment in Petawawa ON, 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Edmonton AB, 8 Field Engineer Regiment in Edmonton AB, and 4 Engineer Support Regiment in Gagetown NB . Peter also deployed on operations in Bosnia in 1994/1995 as part of United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR).

There will not be a visitation. A celebration of life will be held in the summer months of 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favourite charity. On line condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
