We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer John Edward “Jack” Parks, CD (Ret’d) on 7 March 2018 in Chilliwack, BC at age 81. Jack served a full career as a Combat Engineer with the Canadian Military Engineers.

Jack enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 1958. After completing his basic Field Engineer training at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack, BC he was posted to 1 Field Squadron in Petawawa ON for the first of what was to be a sequence of postings among the Field Squadrons. This included Petawawa, ON (1960 and 1973), Chilliwack (1963 and 1973) and in Germany on three occasions (1960, 1970, and 1979). His career included an assignment with the Regular Support Staff (1984-86) with 44^th Field Engineer Squadron in Trail, BC before retiring in Chilliwack in 1986.  

A Memorial Service will be conducted for Jack on 8 April 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 280 Vedder Golden, 5661 Vedder Rd, BC. As applicable, attendees are encouraged to wear their blazers complete with medals.Poppies will be available at the funeral home for placement during the tribute.
